Nothing here is a mock-up. It is an early build, on a phone, reading a real box off my kitchen table. It shows you that the thing works, not what it will look like in October. The Carer tab in the bar along the bottom keeps someone else's medication on its own list, beside yours.

The awkward questions
Kepta is still being built, so some of these are honest about what is not settled yet.
Will it work with my medication?
It is being designed so that it does. You point the camera at the box and Kepta reads the label for you. And you can always add a medication by hand instead — typing it in is a proper way in, not a fallback, so nothing is ever locked out because a box would not scan. If your medication is one of the awkward ones, tell me and it moves up the list.
What if the box is worn, or not in English?
Both are handled. The scanner reads other languages, and a worn box is not a dead end: it picks up as much as it can, and then you review everything before it is saved. That review is exactly where you fill in whatever the camera could not make out. Nothing is ever added to your list without you seeing it first.
Can I manage someone else's medication as well as my own?
Yes. Caring for someone else is in the first version, with its own place in the app, so their medication and yours stay separate instead of piling into one list. It is the most-asked thing this page has heard, which is why it is in rather than on a someday list. The survey asks how you manage it today, and those answers shape what it looks like in October.
What if the scan gets something wrong?
You check it before it counts. That is step two, and it is the whole reason it exists. Kepta shows you what it read, you correct anything that is off, and only then does it remember. Nothing is ever added to your list without you seeing it first.
And nothing is ever stuck. Every detail stays editable afterwards, at any time — the name, the dose, the schedule, all of it. If you notice something wrong in a month, you change it in a moment. The scan is a shortcut for typing, not a decision you are held to.
What happens to my medication data?
Your medication list is only ever used to run Kepta for you. It is never analysed, never sold, never shared, and never used to build a picture of you — not for marketing, not for research, not for anything else. It is not the product, and it never will be.
Why sign up two months before it opens?
Because this is the only window in which the founding price can be locked at all. The whole exchange is an email address and a short survey — no card, and nothing to pay, now or in October.
And the survey is not research on you. The answers decide what gets built before Kepta opens, so the people answering now are the people shaping it.
Kepta opens in October at the founding price, and for thirty days after that anyone can still join at it. After those thirty days the price changes, and whatever you locked in stays yours for as long as you keep your subscription.
And if it never ships?
Then you get an email saying so, in plain words, and your address and your answers are deleted within fourteen days. Nothing was ever taken from you, so there is nothing to refund and nobody to chase. It is a real possibility and it would be worse to pretend otherwise.

Kepta is built by Finn Essig, an independent solo founder. Not a company you have never heard of — one person, building this carefully, with the aim of making your day easier.
What this page stores
Your email address, so we can tell you when the app opens, and whatever you chose to answer in the ten questions. That is the whole list. There is no card, no payment details and no payment processor, because nothing is being sold here yet.
Leaving takes one click
Change your mind at any moment. Every email carries a link that deletes your address and your answers on the spot, no questions and no reply needed.

What Kepta will not do
- It does not give medical advice, and it does not replace your doctor or your pharmacist.
- It does not check for interactions between your medications.
- It does not decide anything about your treatment. It keeps track of what you have taken and what is left, and that is the whole job.
I am not a company. There is no team, no investors and no exit plan. Just me, building something I think should exist and cannot find. If it opens in October you will hear from me. If it does not, you will hear that from me too, in plain words, and your details will be gone within fourteen days.
